Cockatiel Miracle!
Day 0 - 5

Babies hatch all the time around our home and sometimes you forget the miracle of it all. From an egg about the size of a jelly bean will emerge life. Sometimes, nature needs a little help. Some chicks are turned a little bit from normal in the shell and cannot get out on their own. Here is a picture story of a little chick that needed our help. This is a SLYC Cinnamon Pied chick born 18th of March, 2005. We'll be posting regular updates here so you can follow along and share in the progress! The number of pictures has grown so much, we had to break it up into multiple pages. The newest pictures are on the higher numbered pages.

We found this baby struggling to break free. To help out, the shell was cleared from around the head. Not long afterward, a little push and...
POP! Out of the shell, and almost doubling in size. Legs and wings unfolding, the awakening begins...
Okay, now time for a nap (birthing can be hard work) At 24 hours, its a totally different look.
Same first day, but up from one of many naps. Here is miracle baby with its siblings.
At 3 days old, baby is growing rapidly. At 5 days old, it's hard to tell in this picture, but the chick has doubled in size from the last picture.
